Recorded a door closing at my school and then modified it in audacity to create a sort of sproing-ing sound. Use: when you need a boomerang sound that isn't really a boomerang but that's ok because it sounds like one.

Two mourning doves: one close, one far distant, in a mating call and response. Pretty clean, spring pre-air conditioner pollution season background with light birdsong way back. Recorded @ 8khz with a griffin italk mic to a recently refurbished 20gb 3rd generation ipod - my favorite lo-fi field recording / interview rig. If you have a recording device on your person, you get a lot of stuff you'd otherwise miss altogether. This rig helps me get those things too ephemeral to capture with a stereo pair; sounds i would regret not having at all. I keep it on my belt 90% of the time. Just in case.

This is a 50-second dark and spooky space-horror-esque ambiance i made with: a fan, a very creaky window, and some old trash-can lid scrapes and bangs i recorded a few years ago.

Recordings of some birds singing amongst some trees in leicester city-centre, uk. This is a composite of a longer recording. The second half of the recording focuses on another tree with different birds singing. Note the lo-fi soundscape due the noise levels caused by the nearby traffic. Sound is a short clip from a microcassette field recording of my next-door neighbors talking outside. It has a seemingly young girl exclaiming "he looks like a damn prick!" and then some other things i don't remember or couldn't discern. I have no idea what they were talking about. . .
